Security Updates
Make sure you computer has the latest security updates so you know you are as safe as you can be while working online at home.
Windows
(Windows 10 & 11)
Click on the ‘Start’ button.
On the left side of the ‘Start Menu’, click on the ‘Settings’ button, it looks like a gear or cog icon.
Click on the ’Windows Update’ button.
Click on ‘Check for Updates’ and wait.
If it says the are no new updates, then you are already ready to go.
If not, click on the ‘Download’ button and wait for it to install all of the updates. This can take a while if there are a lot of updates (usually because you are not regularly checking for updates) or it might only take a couple of minutes.
Once the update is finished, it might ask you to restart. Click ‘Restart’.
If it does not ask to restart, do it any way, just to make sure everything gets installed and is working correctly.
(Windows 8 or older)
Click on the Start button.
Type “Windows Update”. and click on it when it appears in the list.
Click on the ‘Check for Updates’ button and wait.
If it says the are no new updates, then you are already ready to go.

Mac OS
(Mojave or newer)
Open System Preferences.
Click on Software Update.
If it show and pending updates, click Update Now.
Wait for the update to finish and then restart your Mac.
(High Sierra or older)
Click on the Apple Menu, the apple logo in the top right corner o the screen.
Click on Software Update and follow the on screen instructions.
